08/06/2017 - College PREP - San Diego, CA - Chloe Strassenburg is a 2019 outside. Chloe has good size standing just shy of six feet tall. She uses her height to her advantage being able to contact the ball high with good control. Her technique in her arm swing is pretty sound and consistent. Her main focus moving forward is timing the set with a faster approach - with more momentum in her approach it will help her be more explosive getting off the ground higher and faster. At the net she shows potential in being a good blocker. She gets touches on most balls helping slow down the hitter and is able to get to the ball/hitter quickly. Her main focus is to be balanced and work on her blocking footwork so that she covers more ground and finishes jumping up and not floating to close the block. As passer/defender she produces a good quality ball. She has a good strong platform. She continues to work on improving with passing by shifting more weight in the toes, keeping shoulders forward and being stopped when the hitter is contacting the ball. From the end line she has a consistent jump float serve with good speed. Occasionally she gets a hold of it from underneath the ball but this will get better with continued reps and good location of the toss. Overall, Chloe shows signs of becoming a good six rotation outside with continued coaching and practice.
