09/17/2017 - College PREP - Potomac, MD - Kayla Browne is a 2021 middle blocker. Kayla is a very strong player. She has a heavy, fast arm that is often hard to stop at the net. She is able to control her shots & keep them in when sets are off. As a hitter she is continuing to work on her explosiveness and quicker transition so that she is up and ready for the setter at all times. Kayla also shows potential of being a good opposite hitter as well being that she is able to attack out of system balls very well - she is equally a threat on the opposite as the middle. As a blocker she uses her size to her advantage and takes away large area at the net - she consistently gets touches. She is continuing to work on her timing and reading the opposing setter. From the end line Kayla has a very strong consistent standing float serve that is difficult for opponents to pass. Her serve passes close to the net with some power and with her good contact she makes the ball dance ultimately making it a tough serve. Overall Kayla is a good player and will be a nice addition to a college program in the future. She is only entering her freshman year so she is still young and will continue to develop game IQ and over all volleyball quickness. We at the Factory are excited to see her progress.
