07/10/2014 - Volleyball Factory Advanced Summer Competition at Lake Placid - Sam is hard worker that provides the vocal support and drive that you look for in a setter. She was by far the most vocal player over the course of the event. She encouraged her teammates and pushed them to perform in rough spots. As a setter she began to connect well with her middles as the event went on. Her ability to make adjustments created success and opportunities to earn points for her team. I would like to see her consistency improve on sets especially when setting a variety of hitters with differing attributes. Her arm swing needs some attention and often causes errors in serving and attack. She is aggressive in attack and has power to unleash once the arm swing is corrected. Sam has a ton of energy and works hard for her teammates. She is the type of setter other players will want to play well for. I believe Sam will have a great collegiate career with the right program.
05/17/2014 - College PREP - Grand Prairie (DFW), TX - Sam seems poised for a breakout year. She has great tools as a setter with the ability to do all things well on the volleyball court. Her size and ability to play multiple positions on the court will make her a valuable part of the right team. Sam works hard and once given information has the ability to make adjustments. As a collegiate player she would lead the team well and once given more information be an intelligent distributor of the offense on the court. She has the ability to be a front row setter giving the coach the option to run a 6-1 without using a valuable blocker. She scored high marks as a blocker and passer. She has a smooth release and delivery of the volleyball and is able to connect with her players. Sam is not only a great player on the court but works hard and does it with a great attitude. If you are still looking for a setter, she would be a great place to start.
