07/13/2017 - Volleyball Factory Select Summer Training Camp at Lake Placid
- Allie Cunyus is a 2018 setter. She does a good job of jump setting as much as she can. She runs the court well and is a leader on the court. She does a great job at changing the set to what the hitter wants and putting the ball in a consistent location. Allie has a smooth release and is consistent with her location placement and is able to connect with her hitters. By continuing to be an effective setter she will work on her tempo - setting a faster offense to her hitters. She will do this by keeping hands high & releasing the ball faster. Defensively, Allie does a great job of reading the ball and knowing the correct move to make a good play. She has great court awareness and great technique in passing and digging. As Allie enters her senior year of high school we are excited and anxious to see what college she commits to. We know she will make a good impact and be a great addition.

- Allie is a hard worker that has a calm presence on the court as a setter. She seems to have a good hold on the offensive success of her hitters. Her athleticism makes her a definite asset at the position. She is well rounded as a setter with a good ability to not only distribute the ball well, but plays solid defense and can score on attack. As a setter Allie gets all of her hitters involved. She has a smooth release and can make adjustments very quickly based on hitter needs. I would like her to take the ball from a more neutral position to help push the sets all the way to the antenna more consistently. She has some good quickness that I would like to see her use to arrive earlier to the ball. Her serve is a nice float that she controls well to various locations. Defensively, she finds the target and sets nice angles with her platform making the ball easy to play for non-setters. I would like to see her increase her range of balls she is able to dig well that might require a floor move. Her side of the court seemed to run quite effectively with her at the helm. She offered poise and consistent quality contacts to each play she was involved in. Allie will be a great setter at the next level.
