09/24/2017 - College PREP - Nashville, TN - Amanda Jeffrey is a 2018 setter and a player who has worked with the Factory over the past year. We continue to see improvement from Amanda. As a setter she continues to work on strength and pushing to the pins so that they don't die and to make sure that she squares up each time. As a defender she has good court awareness and makes plays - she continues to focus on staying low and beating balls to their location. From the end line she has both a standing float and jump float serves. She is consistent from the end line and balls cross close to the net. We encourage her to continue to work on her jump float serve as it will help her through momentum develop more power Into her serve ultimately making it more effective. With the determination to continue to get better we are excited to see and track her continued progress.
07/20/2017 - Volleyball Factory Lone Star Select Training - Amanda Jeffrey is a 2018 setter. As a setter she has good awareness on the floor. She has a nice touch with a smooth release. She is able to push the ball to each pin. Amanda is determined to set at the next level and continues to develop and refine her setting skills. Currently she is working on her strength to push the ball and learning to take the ball a little closer to her forehead to allow her arms to have more follow through (and more legs). As a defender she sees the game well and makes plays. When in a good ready position she arrives early and balanced for the ball and delivers a quality pass. Her biggest focus defensive/passing wise is to hold her platform and let the ball work off her arms with out guiding or swinging her arms to where she wants the ball to go. From the end line she has a good quality jump float when a consistent toss is delivered. With extra reps of keeping the ball out in front she will continue to delveop power and deliver good serve. With Amanda entering her senior year we are excited and anxious to see what school she will end up going to next fall.
