09/03/2017 - College PREP - Chesterfield (Richmond), VA - Amani Walker is a 2018 setter and opposite hitter. As a setter Amani has smooth release with strong hands. She is able to set the floor and run an offense. She is continuing to work on a faster tempo and making sure to get to the ball faster and get hands up faster. As an attacker Amani is a offensive threat especially with her shot down the line. Her arm swing generates good power and jumps effortlessly. She continues on lettering her arm go and not stopping it at the end of her swing as well as getting on the sets faster. Defensively and as a passer she has a good touch on the ball and is able to make plays she just needs to remember to stay low and not pop up. At the net she is aggressive and gets touches to help slow down the blocker. From the end line Amani has a good consistent jump float that passes low to the net. Her biggest thing with her serve is to focus on the contact so that the ball has little to no spin on the ball. As a senior Amani is now approaching college and decision day on where she will end up playing next fall. She will add a lot to her future program as a versatile player, being able to set and hit and will find ways to get points on the board with her aggressiveness at the net. We are excited for her and can't wait to see where she ends up committing to.
