10/22/2017 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA - Ariana Gordon is a 2019 middle blocker and right side hitter. Ariana has a long wing span which sets her up to contact at a higher point. She develops good power but is still raw in her attacking skills. She continues to work on her mechanics but being more explosive, leaving space between the net and her. Ariana is a unique middle as she is left handed. She also hits on the right side - this might be a good move for her as an attacker moving forward but she would need to get extra practicing to get her timing down. As a blocker she is active on the net and gets quality touches. She continues to work on her IQ by reading the opposing setter and penetrating more over the net. Ariana's serve is a standing float that is consistent in getting over and in. She continues to work on developing more power with it and making it a more effective serve. Over all Ariana is a junior who is still raw in her skills. She is dedicated in taking her game to the next level and with continued practice, reps and coaching could see her a jump in her over all game.
