08/20/2017 - College PREP - Houston, TX - Ashleigh Sherman is a 2021 setter. Ashleigh shows potential to be a good setter with continued practice. As a setter she has a great frame and good length in her arms. She has good court awareness and is able to make good decisions on who to set when and where. She is continuing to focus on strength in her arms and using her legs so that she can push the ball all the way to the pins. She is also working on her quickness - being able to release from right back faster and being able to run the court and still get her hands on a ball and deliver a good set. Defensively she has a good touch but is working on staying low and not swinging or guiding the ball to the target. From the end line she has a standing float serve that shows signs of being effective and tough for the opponents to pass. With more practice and reps she is focusing on her toss being out in front and contacting the ball in the back middle of the ball to send it over with little to no spin. Entering her sophomore year of high school we are excited to see the continued progress she will make as a player. Ashleigh works hard and is hungry to play at the next level and is determined to get herself there.
