03/14/2015 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA - Ashtyn is working to build on the foundation she already has as a player. She showed balance in all skills with the ability to continue to grow and work to elevate skill. I would like to see Ashtyn maintain an open hand on contact while serving and toss the ball in front of her body more so that she is able to get more power on the ball. Ashtyn can focus on keeping the same low, powerful, float serve that she has over the net consistently. Her serve will be very effective once she is able to find the happy medium height of the ball crossing the net. Offensively, Ashtyn does a great job of contacting the ball at it's highest point, but can improve by increasing her control and placement. She can improve that by getting her elbow back. While blocking, she can improve her footwork speed to get to the OH and can work on reading her hitters better. Defensively, she has a nice wide base, but can work on getting balls to target consistently as well as increasing her passing angle, which will improve as she continues to improve her footwork.
