08/06/2017 - College PREP - San Diego, CA - Brianna Torres is a 2018 outside hitter. An undersized hitter, Brianna makes up for her smaller size with her athletic ability and vertical. As an attacker she jumps well - is able to read the blocker and find a way to score or better her team. She has a good, fast arms wing, contacting high in front of her. She has the ability to change up shots and shows good control in her attacks. As a defender she has a solid platform with a wide low base. She has good court awareness that sets her up to make plays. She has good footwork, allowing her to get to balls. Her main focus in defending is using her quickness to her advantage and not hesitating. From the end line she has a consistent jump float serve with good speed. She is able to hit zones with an effective serve that cross just over the net. Occasionally she will misconduct on the ball making it spin -she is focusing on that by taking her time at the end line and really working on clean contact. Overall Brianna shows great potential of being an effective six rotation hitter at the next level. Entering her senior year we are anxious to see where she ends up committing to.
