02/04/2015 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD - Carmiya is still learning her position but is actively engaged throughout the learning process. She seems willing to know more and once information is provided has the ability to make changes. She ranks above average at her position, but there are still signs of youth. I would like to see her compete and train at high level in order to see how fast she can make corrections and how easily she could get to the next level of play for her position. I would like for her to be more vocal on the court and I am sure that will happen as she gains more confidence. Carmiya has good power on her serve, but I would like for her to continue to work on consistently serving specific locations. Offensively, she is capable of being an effective hitter as long as she focuses on keeping the ball infront of her and contacting the ball at it's highest point. She can improve this by keeping her elbow high at her ear and improving the timing of her approach. Defensively, Carmiya can improve on anticipating the short ball, being more aggressive, and more vocal. These three aspects, especially being mroe vocal, will help her read the game better as well as help her teammates around her. She does a great job of getting touches and penetrating over the block, but needs more experience on knowing when to stay down or when to jump. Overall, Carmiya is still improving as a player but is on the right track as she works to smooth out her play.
07/17/2014 - Volleyball Factory Lone Star Select Training - Carmyia is a talented athlete that is still working on getting her skill to catch up with her physical ability. She has good power on her attack but her arm swing requires attention. Carmyia rounds her arm swing before contact which causes her to be late and give away the nice vertical she has. Every move she makes on the court is done effortlessly but I would like to see more attention to clean technique. Carmyia is young so she has time to make these minor adjustments. She will raise the level in the gym and works hard to make changes. She will no doubt make the necessary adjustments and will be a heavily sought after player.
