02/04/2015 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD - Emily is working to build on the foundation she already has as a player. She showed balance in all skills with the ability to continue to grow and work to elevate her skill. I would like to see Emily continue to work to increase power for her serve and her defensive movements and passing technique. Emily has a tendency to stand up frequently when she is passing and also has her weight on her heels instead of her toes which makes it very difficult for her to pick up the balls that are tipped over the net. While setting, Emily can improve on squaring her hips to the pins, which means the ball is either being set to the other side of the net or it is too far off for her hitters to have a good chance of getting a decent attack. As Emily continues to gain experience through playing, she will be able to have a better understanding of where the blockers are on the other side of the net to make good choices of who to set on her side. I am confident that Emily will continue to improve as long as she continues to focus on the details of the game.
