07/30/2016 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD - Emily is a 2017 Setter. Emily has a good reaction time and gets her feet to the ball. She has smooth hands and connects well with her hitters creating a great tempo to the pins and is constantly working to jump set even more to help her hitters pull blockers. During 6 on 6 gameplay she opened up towards her defense and closed on contact creating it harder for the blockers to know where she was about to set. This made it possible for her to give her hitters an open attack creating easy sideouts. Right now she is working on releasing faster from defense to arrive early for the set. Emily has a great attitude and tons of potential and will do great on any collegiate program.
02/04/2015 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD - Emily is working to build on the foundation she already has as a player. She showed balance in all skills with the ability to continue to grow and work to elevate skill. I would like to see Emily work on her footwork while setting and not running to the ball with her hands already in a neutral hold. She can focuson getting to the location and then immediately getting her hands in the neutral hold to be ready to set. As Emily works on the timing of her neutral hold, she can keep in mind that when she goes to dump a ball, she has a tendency to get her hand up a little too early, which allows the other team to read her easier. Emily has a great serve, but can work on consistently hitting the zones in order to be a better threat behind the line. Overall, Emily is still improving as a player but is on the right track as she works to smooth out her play.
