11/04/2017 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY - Erin Weller is a 2022 outside hitter. As an attacker she is a hitter with good fundamentals - she transitions off the net well which sets herself up for a good attack. To take her attacking to the next level she needs to focus on her timing - making sure she doesn't over run the set or arrive late as well as her contact. This will come with continued reps and coaching. As a passer and defender she puts up good quality passes for the setter and has her platform angled to the target correctly. She needs to continue to work on staying low and trusting her feet to get to the ball to make plays. From the end-line she has a standing float serve with good speed. To improve her consistency and effectiveness she needs to focus on a good toss out in front so that she can contact the back middle of the ball and work on serving more straight across the net. Overall, as an 8th grader Erin has good basic fundamentals. With continued practice and coaching she will continue to see a jump in her game. We are excited to see her progress over the next few years.
