11/26/2017 - College PREP - Chandler, AZ - Honor Owens is a 2019 outside hitter. Honor is an effective, consistent attacker. Her left arm drags decreasing her vertical. She needs to be more explosive and work on better timing. Improving the technical elements in her approach and swing will dramatically change the outcome of her attack. As a passer she has a nice staring position and gets her platform set to target. Learning proper footwork and how to create angles with her shoulders instead of arms will improve the quality and location of the pass. She is vocal and uses her hands at the right times. As a defender her stating position for defense is too high. She needs to step to the ball and make moves with her shoulders down. Working on her eye sequencing ball-setter-ball-hitter will help her read better and react faster. From the end line she has a nice jump float that needs power and speed. She has good hand contact and creates a solid float. If she speeds up her approach and plants 45 degrees she will create a tougher server with more speed and power.
