07/13/2017 - Volleyball Factory Select Summer Training Camp at Lake Placid - Jena Guilfoyle is a 2019 right side. At the net as a blocker she does a great job of getting good touches when she is lined up and to the antenna. She does a good job with taking up a lot of space at the net making it difficult for hitters to attack or score. Defensively she does a good job being vocal on the court and keeping her platform set to target. From the end line Jena has a jump float that with continued practice and reps could turn into one of her stronger skills. With Jena only entering her junior year she is determined to continue to work on different parts of the game to make her a strong candidate for a collegiate program. She is currently focusing on transition and approach footwork and staying low defensively so that she can react quicker and make more plays.
03/10/2017 - College PREP - Flushing, NY - Jena is a 2019 Rightside. She has a great jump float that has speed and consistency creating it tough for the offense to make a 3 set option. During defense and passing, she had good ball control with a solid platform creating a settable ball, while working to gain more ground laterally it will allow her to become a big threat in the back court. Jena makes a fluid movement from serve receive and transitioning to the outside with a good backswing and creating a high touch on the ball making it easy for her to work around the block. Jena is currently working on her defense off the net and transition out for the attack. Overall, she is a hard working player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.
