11/04/2017 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY - Julia Stoliker is a 2023 outside hitter. She is a young raw player who is still developing and learning the game. As an attacker she needs to focus on having a more relaxed hand, let her arm swing through and be more explosive. As a passer and defender she needs to be more disciplined with her platform by keeping it straight and simple and not swing it toward target but create an angle by dropping the inside shoulder toward target. She also needs to focus staying low and trust her feet to get to the ball. From the end-line she has a standing float serve that is inconsistent and lacks power. To improve the effectiveness of the serve she needs to focus on a good high toss in front of her, contact the back middle of the ball and shift weight from back foot to front foot to develop more power. As a 7th grader, with continued reps and coaching Julia will see improvement in her fundamentals and game IQ. At the Factory we are excited to see her progress over the next few years.
