12/14/2017 - Volleyball Factory Select Training at the NCAA Championship - Juliana was a pleasure to coach. She is very coachable and eager to soak up as much volleyball knowledge to improve her overall game. Juliana made significant improvement from the first day to the final day of the training camp. Juliana has the ability to play in college. Perhaps she could start off her volleyball career/training at the community college level and then transfer into a 4-year college/university in a Division II or III program, depending on her growth at the next level. She may have started playing volleyball later in life than most adolescent girls her age, but she definitely has the potential to grow with the game and be a solid volleyball player.
11/12/2017 - College PREP - Lakewood (Denver), CO - Juliana Hernandez is 2018 middle blocker. As an attacker she needs to focus on opening up to her setter and being more explosive. She also needs to work on her timing as she tends to be early or late at times which affects her attack. From the end line she has a standing float serve that with more reps focusing on hand contact and weight transfer to develop more power will become more effective. Her strongest volleyball skill is her ability to block. Her size allows her to take up a large area on the net where she gets quality touches that slow down the attackers. She does a good job of penetrating across the net stopping balls from crossing over the net. To improve her blocking she needs to focus on her footwork and reading the setter so that she can make an effective block more and not guess. In her last year of high school we are excited that she will be joining us at the Select Training in Kansas City where we hope to make an impact on her development and prepare her for college.
