08/20/2017 - College PREP - Portland, OR - Kalie Anderson is a 2018 libero. Kalie is a confident defender who leads in the back row. She has a good platform that is straight and simple and creates the angle to target with out "guiding" the ball to target. She is comfortable taking balls with her hands. She is vocal on the court and makes plays. Continuing to strengthen her game, Kalie is focus on keeping weight on the balls of her feet and keeping her shoulders down and being patient and not to anxious on plays. When she gets anxious to either moves to soon or adds in extra movement that is not needed. Kalie is very comfortable with stepping in and taking the second ball. She keeps balls hit and off the net so that she sets her pin hitters up for a good attack. She has good court awareness and knows when she is inside the 10 foot line and that when she is inside the 10ft line that she needs to rely on her platform instead of hands. From the end line Kalie has a consistent jump float serve with good contact and speed. The serve passes low to the net. She is also able to hit zones. As Kalie enters her senior year we are excited and anxious to see where she ends up committing to. Kalie will be a good addition to a future program.
