02/04/2015 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD - Kira is working to build on the foundation she already has as a player. She showed balance in all skills with the ability to continue to grow and work to elevate skill. I would like to see Kira continue to work on consistently serving the ball with good contact (ball is contact in the middle back of the ball) to give the ball a better float. Defensively, Kira can focus on covering more ground; she can do that by having more efficient footwork and reading/anticipating where the ball will go based upon what is happening on the other side of the net, especially the angle of approach and the shoulders of the hitter. She has great approach footwork, but can work on improving the speed of her arm swing and snapping her wrist quick to be more effective. She has a tendency to approach straight on (needs to stay open to the setter), which eliminates hitting different angles. Overall, Kira is still improving as a player but is on the right track as she works to smooth out her play.
