09/03/2017 - College PREP - Chesterfield (Richmond), VA - Kyla McIntyre is a 2021 outside hitter. Kyla is extremely athletic and shows tons of potential for a future career in college. With some dedication and hard work mixed with a bunch of reps in the gym Kyla will see big jump in her game that will give her and her teammates tons of success in upcoming seasons. As an attacker she gets off the floor very well and has a nice long reach where she contacts the ball at a high angle. Every once and a while she will make a great connection with the ball and light it up but the other times due to timing and arm swing she isn't as consistent. But with the drive to play in college Kyla continues to work on getting her feet to the ball, driving her arms up big and letting her arm fly. As a defender she has an advantage with her long arms so she is able to cover my court. She continues to work on her reaction time, not hesitating and seeing reacting faster as well as stay low and creating angles with her platform. At the net she takes up good space and gets some quality touches to help slow down the attackers. She continues to work on penetrating across the net and reading the setter more. From the end line Kyla has a good standing float serve. With extra reps she will see some improvement in the effectiveness of her serve. She continues to work on a consistent toss and making sure to contact the back center of the ball. With Kyla only entering her freshman year of high school she still has plenty of time to grow and develop and we can't wait to see how she progresses.
