12/03/2017 - College PREP - Plain City, OH - Madisyn Colvin is a 2021 setter. As a young freshmen setter she needs to focus on her technical & footwork training. She needs to focus on left right footwork, staying square to the net, a more event release and not dropping her head back when she sets behind her. She does take the ball from a high position. Defensively she does a good job with putting up a quality ball and staying low but she needs to be mindful of passing angles and not swinging her platform to target but to just angle her platform to where she wants the ball to go. She can also focus more on reading the hitter and not being late by reacting to the ball. This will all come with more training and more game play experience. From the end line she has a standing float and jump float serve. With her serving she has good contact on the ball with good speed crossing low to the net making it difficult to pass. At times she tends to contact the ball low which causes her to serve in the net - but giving her a higher toss and being mindful to keep her elbow up she will see a jump in her consistency.
