09/03/2017 - College PREP - Chesterfield (Richmond), VA - Marianna Bertolone is a 2020 outside hitter with a very bright future ahead of her. She is a very strong, athletic player who will find a home at a highly competitive program. At the net she is an offensive threat. She has a fast, heavy arm swing allowing her to score easily. She is quick on her feet and able to adjust to the blocker in front of her or to the set that is given to her. She is able to mix up her shots and is a consistent outside hitter. Always looking for a way to improve Marianna continues to work on landing on both feet and being a bit more patient on the attack - at times she approaches to early and the ball then gets behind her. As a defender she is a natural in the back court with good court awareness. She has a strong simple platform that lets the ball work off it. She continues to work on trusting her feet to get to as many balls as she can and run through them as well as keeping her arms away from her body and doesn't let them stay to tight to her body. From the end line Marianna is an extremely effective and consistent server. Her standing float serve is simple yet powerful. She gets good power behind the ball and keeps it low to the net making it difficult to pass. Marianna is only in her sophomore year of high school with a few years left to grow and fine tune her skills before she goes to college. We at the Factory are very excited to see what program is lucky enough to have her on their roster.
