08/20/2017 - College PREP - Portland, OR - Molly Packer is a 2019 libero. Molly is an aggressive, "go getter" defender who is able to make plays. She is quick on her feet allowing her to run through balls and keep her feet. Along with her quickness she is able to make a read, stop below & disciplined and then react to the ball and keep it alive. She has a good strong platform that creates good angles producing a good quality pass consistently. Determined to play at a high level in college she is continuing to work on different passing techniques like not breaking her elbows when she passes, remembering to hold her platform during and after the pass; being more vocal and keeping arms away from her body. Molly is away and ready to take the second ball from the setter when the setter digs the first contact. She has a good platform and is also good with her hands. She is comfortable setting both pins. From the end line She has a good strong jump float that has good pace on the ball making it difficult to pass by her opponents. The serve is low to the net and hits the opponents deep in the court. She continues to work on her serving and is focusing on serving zones and seems. Over all Molly would be a strong addition to a collegiate program. Only entering her junior year she still has time to continue to develop. We are very excited to see how she progresses and what colleges show interest in her.
