07/13/2017 - Volleyball Factory Select Summer Training Camp at Lake Placid - Nicole Mangaroo is a 2018 middle blocker. As an attacker she has a high contact point and when she makes good contact she is able to be a dependable scorer. As a blocker she has quick lateral movement and gets to her pin blocks well. She is active at the net getting touches on balls and deflecting up high for her teammates to step in a deliver a good second ball to their attackers. Nicole is a hard worker and determined to play at the next level. She is continuing to work on small adjustments to her game - staying open to her setter when she comes in to attack, faster arm swing and penetrating on the blocks. With Nicole entering her senior year of high school we are very anxious and excited to see where she ends up committing to.
03/10/2017 - College PREP - Flushing, NY - Nicole is a 2018 Middle. Nicole is a hard worker and very eager to learn, she has a great float serve that she is capable of moving around crossing the net at a good height. She did a great job being up every time on the attack and being able to create different shots to the corners to help break up the blocking scheme. Nicole did a great job working each pin being able to get there and really penetrate over the net and closing the block. Currently she is working on her approach footwork and keeping tight to the setter when playing in the middle. Overall, Nicole is a hard working player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.
