12/15/2016 - Volleyball Factory Select Training at the NCAA Championship - Pilar is a 2019 Setter. Pilar has a good reaction time and gets her feet to the ball. At each camp we see better connection with her hitters and see improvement throughout the duration of the camp. During 6 on 6 gameplay she opened up towards her defense and closed on contact creating it harder for the blockers to know where she was about to set. This made it possible for her to give her hitters an open attack creating easy sideouts. Right now she is working on releasing faster from defense to arrive early for the set. Pilar has a great attitude and tons of potential and will do great on any collegiate program.
07/17/2016 - Volleyball Factory Summer Classic - Pilar is a 2019 Setter. Pilar has an aggressive float serve that stays low and over the net making it tough for passers to get a quality pass. With her offense she puts up a big swing with an aggressive approach being able to hit the back corner of the court, in the back court she was constantly improving on her passing and defense making quick adjustments and being able to get her platform out early. Pilar is young and talented, if she continues to work hard and make the small adjustments each time she steps on the court she will be able to pick the school of her choice!
07/07/2016 - Volleyball Factory Lone Star Select Training - Pilar is a 2019 Setter. Pilar has a jump float serve that would drop right in front of the end line. Her passing and defense showed consistency and she showed good hustle towards every ball. She got her platform out early and produced a good location. Pilar did a good job squaring up to the pins before making her set to the hitters and being able to set against the flow of her body which helped free up the hitters and only allow one blocker up. Right now she is working on releasing faster from defense to arrive early for the set. Overall, Pilar is a hard working player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.
