08/20/2017 - College PREP - Portland, OR - Rylee Myers is a 2019 middle blocker and outside hitter. With Rylee's ability to hit in the middle and outside it makes her a more versatile hitter - her strongest position is on the outside. On the outside she develops more power in her swing. She has good footwork on both attacks and jumps fairly well. In both hitting areas she is continuing to improve and is focused on timing with the set (outside to early) and spacing from the net (middle to tight). She is also working on developing more shots so that she can switch it up and keep the defense on her toes. As a blocker Rylee is active at the net and is able to get touches to slow down the hitter. She is continuing to work on her eye sequence, finding her hitter once the ball has been set -she is also working on penetrating over the net with her blocking. As a passer and defender she is continuing to work on getting feet to the ball and not defaulting to her knees to pass. From the enplane she has a consistent standing top spin serve. As a focus moving forward we encourage her to work on her float serve as we believe it will be a much more effective serve for her in the future. Entering her junior year we are excited to see how Rylee continues to improve and how the recruiting process will go for her.
