08/06/2017 - College PREP - San Diego, CA - Sarah Williams is a 2018 outside hitter. Standing six feet and one inch tall, Sarah uses her size to her advantage as a hitter and blocker at the net. She is able to score easily with her high swing that is back with good power and control. She is a consistent hitter and has varied shots. Always looking for ways to improve she is now focusing on hitting high off hands and using the block to her advantage. Adding this element will make her a bigger threat. As a blocker, she gets quality touches at the net slowing down her opponent. She takes up a large space at the net and has quick feet getting her to the ball/hitter fast. With her long reach & strong shoulders she penetrates on her blocks well. Her biggest focus with blocking is working on the location of where to set the block. This will come with continuing to read the setter and hitter. As a defender and passer she puts up quality balls and has a nice touch. She covers the court well and gets her feet to the ball allowing her to be set up and balanced when passing. From the end line she has a consistent standing float and delivers with good speed. She is continuing to develop her jump float and location serving. Overall, Sarah is a strong volleyball player who would be a great six rotation addition at a competitive college program. Entering her senior year we are anxious and excited to see where she ends up committing to.
