07/20/2017 - Volleyball Factory Lone Star Select Training - Savanna Davis is 2018 outside hitter. Savanna is a very sound all around player who is ready for the collegiate level and has the tools to be a six rotation hitter. Offensively she has strong attacking skills - she approaches well to the ball. She jumps well, generates good power with her swing and has very good control that allows her to hit different shots. Hungry for the game and always looking for ways to improve Savanna is focused on a bigger transition off the net allowing her a full approach with plenty of momentum and working on her "torque" while in the air allowing for more power and higher reach on the ball. Defensively she has great court awareness and is disciplined. She has solid floor moves and really works to get her feet to the ball, not letting balls beat her. Savanna has the makings of a great passer - she is focused on continuing to work hard as a good passer/defender to insure herself a spot on the court at her future school. Though she isn't the biggest in size she truly is a good blocker. Savanna takes up a large amount of space on the net, penetrates when blocking and finds a way to stop or slow down the hitters by getting touches on all attacks. From the end line she delivers a consistent, strong jump float that has no trouble hitting zones. She also has the ability to jump top spin that is equally effective with the right toss. Over all - Savanna is a talented, hard worker with great volleyball skills. She will be a great addition to a collegiate program. We are very anxious and excited to see where Savanna commits to in the very near future.
