12/14/2017 - Volleyball Factory Select Training at the NCAA Championship - Shannon is very quiet on the court. She understands her role and contributes positively to the court. Her ball control is solid. However, she has to increase her defensive range and develop a relentless pursuit attitude. She has a tendency to get quiet on the court and pick and choose what balls she will go for. She ask questions about what she needs to get better at and tries really hard to execute all that she learns. She is so polite and joy to work with.
12/10/2017 - College PREP - Omaha, NE - Shannon Troxel is a 2021 outside hitter. As an attacker She has good power and a high contact on her arm swing. We encourage Shannon to get tons of reps and focus on her timing of the approach, get arms faster back and up with her arm swing to generate more power and to get further off the court with her approach. As a passer/defender when balls are hit at her she does a good job with getting balls to target. She needs to be mindful to stay low, not cross feet and to not swing platform to target but to drop the inside shoulder to create the angle and let the ball work off the arms. From the end line she has a consistent standing float serve. with more practice reps Shannon should focus on being able to hit different locations on the court and developing more power in her serve by shifting weight from back foot to forward food.
