10/29/2017 - College PREP - Louisville, KY - Sophia Doszak is a 2021 libero. As a passer she provides good quality passes to target, has good footwork and has good use of hands. She is continuing to work on passing more on the balls of her feet (not her heels) and keeping her platform together until ball reaches target. As a defender she does a good job of providing the setter or target a good quality pass, she creates good angles with her platform and gets feet to the ball. She needs to stay mindful of staying low and not starting so high. She also needs to continue to work on staying aggressive and working on her range. She is comfortable in stepping in to take the second ball when needed and gets balls to the pins in good locations. She needs to stay mindful with the 10 foot line rule and libbers and not use her hands in front of the line. From the end line she has a nice standing float serve that is consistent and passes low to the tape. She needs to continue on developing more power with the serve by using her weight transfer more. Overall Sophia is on the right track and with continued reps and focusing on fundamentals she will continue to improve each year and ultimately help her in her recruiting process.
