12/27/2015 - Volleyball Factory Advanced Winter Training at Lake Placid - Sydney is a 2017 Libero. She had good speed and solid contact with the ball on her serve, creating a consistent jump float each time. Sydney had great lateral movements while in defense and serve receive which led to accurate passes to the setter. Being a very vocal player created her to be more aggressive on plays and pushing her to the next level in defense picking up a lot of balls. She is continuing to work on her reaction time when she is playing defense out of middle back. Overall, Sydney is a hard working player and with continued coaching, reps and exposure she will have the opportunity to play at the next level and be a valuable asset to a great collegiate program.
06/13/2015 - College PREP - New Brunswick, NJ - Sydney is a coachable player and is willing to learn once information is provided. And although young, she has the athletic ability to make changes. I would like to see her compete and train at a high level in order to see how fast she can make corrections and how easily she could get to the next level of play for her position. From a technical standpoint, I would like for her to develop a backswing in her approach and to develop more power on her attack. She does show consistency in her attack and shows a fast arm/wrist which is important when playing on the outside. Speeding up her footwork in the backcourt will also help her become a six rotation player. She has time on her side to make these improvements, and we trust she will with hard work.
